Fresh Cut Flower Care
Keep your bouquet looking its best with these easy flower care tips.

Flower tips
What to do once in the vase:
1. Check the water level daily: Top off with fresh water as needed. Flowers drink a lot, especially the first day or two.
2. Change the water every 2–3 days: Even if the vase looks clean, bacteria can build up quickly. Dump out the old water, rinse the vase, and refill with fresh water. If you have flower food, add it. If not, a tiny splash of lemon juice or white vinegar plus sugar works too.
3. Trim the stems every few days: Use sharp scissors or garden snips to cut about ½” to 1” off each stem at a diagonal under running water. This helps them absorb more water.
4. Remove any wilting blooms or foliage: Dead flowers can spread bacteria to the healthy ones. Pluck them out to keep the rest going strong.
5. Keep the vase in a cool, shaded spot: Avoid direct sunlight, heaters, fans, or placing near fruit bowls (ripening fruit gives off ethylene gas which shortens flower life).
Hot Tip: If you’re saving the bouquet for a special event or party, place it in a cool garage or outdoors overnight to preserve freshness. Just make sure it’s protected and you remember to bring it back inside!
